New LV Song from French Children’s Choir

Listen to this!:
Where Are You Driving?
It’s the latest song  performed by the amazing Young Rapture Choir of Angouleme, France.  Patrice Cleyrat is the wild-haired, tight white-panted teacher of around 35 middle school kids who have done versions of Laura’s songs before (you can buy The Young Rapture Choir – Perform Songs of Laura Veirs CD HERE )  The choir has also performed the works of Nirvana, The Pixies, Grandaddy and others.  Patrice is awesome and has tons of energy and vitality and so do his kids. We love the Young Rapture Choir! Find out more about them here: and

Sorry we missed you in Basel, Milena!

This child’s dad came to a show in Basel Switzerland, took a picture of Laura with his Polaroid camera and had her sign it for his daughter who couldn’t come because she was too young.

EU Winter Tour Blog Update No. 3

Ok. Welcome to the French vortex! VAN BROKE DOWN! Spent a day in a parking lot waiting for two tiny rental cars. Jammed and recorded a demo in the back of the van. That night I barfed six times before going on stage. In the morning, Tucker and Gracie followed suit. Drove two six-hour days with all knees crammed into seats and dashes.  Tenn slept in the reeking Parisian green room bathroom and then we finished up a recording in there (the only quiet place around!). Through all these struggles Tenn, when not screaming as babies do, was a remarkably cheerful tour mascot.  And the show in Paris was lovely. Only one show to go in London at Union Chapel with Sam Amidon tomorrow. God bless this delightful and uncomplaining touring party! xo LV

EU Winter Tour Blog Update No. 2

Tucker joined us in Brussels yesterday. Hooray! We loved playing the show there last night — the place was packed and we played four encores.  Alex and Tim were on fire and everything felt great. It was like that in Utrecht, too. Some gigs are OK and some are magic.  We go for the magic! Touring with baby means we A. take lots of pictures of the baby and B. are so busy we don’t take so many pictures of the venues, crowds, etc.  I’m feeling very grateful today for this wonderful life of music and for being able to bring my family to work with me. Now… for some fun times in France. See you soon…

EU Winter Tour Blog Update No. 1

Hi! We are having a blast zooming around Europe.  Three Italian shows down, now two in Switzerland, and off to Holland in the morning. Tim Young is the guitarist on fire, Alex Guy is the violist with soul, Tim Matthew is the tour manager/sound engineer/driver putting all others to shame, Gracie Koester is the super nanny and baby Tennessee is the funniest, most go-with-the-flow and cute tour mascot ever.  The food is amazing and we’re getting a much-needed sun infusion.  Thanks to all who have come out so far to join us at the shows.  More soon…
